We are running a sep sesam server with version 3.6 Buld 5 R 1.7460. I am trying to set up a new client, loyola.uofdjesuit.org. I have installed the client version 3.6.4.34-windows_x64.exe. The server is running a 64 bit version of Windows Server 2008 R2.
During client installation I gave the client the server name of server22.uofdjesuit.org which is our sesam backup server. If I check the file sm_ctrld in the SEPsasam\var\ini folder the content are:
server22.uofdjesuit.org root SYSTEM system
Loyola jhansk01admin
Loyola.uofdjesuit.org jhansk01admin
I have checked DNS via nslookup on Loyola and via dig on server22. both DNS and reverse-DNS show the correct entries.
When I try to add loyola as a client on server22 we get an error:
09:17:08 E001-HOSTS Configuration of Windows backup client loyola.uofdjesut.org completed with errors.
09:17:08 E002-HOSTS There is no access to computer loyola.uofdjesuiit.org - please configure it now for server22.uofdjesuit.org.
FYI, I do have another 64 bit Windows Server2008 R2 connected to this backup server and backups are working correctly
If possible, please provide suggestions on what steps to take and or what additional information you need to assist me with this issue.
